"Here is another great picture of Schroeder in the Indiana!!"
[NOTE from Lee: This was the first professionally-built engine bought by the Brisbane Volunteer Fire Department, after years of using a rig they had put together on their own. It's a White-Indiana, and it's a 1939, if I remember correctly. This is the same rig that the Lions Club uses every Christmas for Santa's ride around the lower neighborhoods, and for his visit to our Tree-Lighting Ceremony. In the late '80's, Johnny Arthurs and I started taking it out in public a bit more, and City Manager Robin Leiter agreed it deserved to be fixed-up and maintained. It was sent up to the State Penitentiary at Vacaville (I think) to be restored by the inmates, and it came back in beautiful condition - part of Brisbane's heritage preserved and still in use.]

Indiana that Lee gave information about. You probably saw it on San Bruno
Avenue during the celebrations at the park. I was proud to have a picture
with me and my grandkids sitting in it. Such warm memories of Santa sitting
up there with bags of goodies for kids when I was one of them! My dad was
Santa for years and got angry at his grandkids when they announced while
sitting on his lap, "hi grandpa" as other children waited their turn. The
loyal Lion's Club members, in their yellow jackets and caps jumped on and
off Jess Salmon's truck with the big scary golden lion in the back. These
fellows gave up their Christmas mornings, continued till the afternoon, and
in some cases, came home tipsy from "gifts" while they delivered their
