The inferno in Buckeye Canyon illuminated the smoke above. It was menacingly visible to the residents of Trinity and Kings, who had been evacuated to the Community Park, as they looked back up to see their spur-ridge silhouetted in orange. Although the fire was spectacular to see at this point, and many spectators came to watch, the actual threat to our town from this fire had been substantially contained. We're so lucky the wind was relatively light that night!
